October 31st - November 4th

It was another great week in Kindergarten!

The M/W class looked fabulous in their costumes and enjoyed their day of Halloween fun!

Learning about Remembrance Day

Learning Intention:
- students develop historical thinking; they can differentiate between events and activities that occurred recently and long ago

I can:
- understand that the war happen a long time ago and that Canada is a safe and free country

With Remembrance Day approaching, we took some time this week to learn about the importance of this special day. We read the story
A Poppy Is to Remember by Heather Patterson and talked about the significance of the poppy and it's symbol of remembrance, hope and peace.  Students began working on a special poppy art project that will be displayed in the gym during our Remembrance Day assembly.  We have been working hard on learning the words to O Canada. We listened to different versions of it - one which was a mix of English, French and indigenous languages. As well, we watched it being done in sign language.
