A HUGE thank you for taking the time to share in your child's learning with them, as well as meeting with me to talk about their achievements and areas for growth. I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work together with all of you and be a part of your child's learning journey.
💗

Some parents were asking about different literacy activities to do with their child at home. Here are a few websites with hands-on ways for you and your child to engage with literacy learning!

You can also play a 'Flip and Find' style with these templates. Use or make a deck of alphabet cards...flip a card and then find it on the mixed up alphabet page! The kids love stamping the letters with bingo daubers, or covering them up with anything fun, fancy or shiny!

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to build their independence and resiliency. We learned how to put the snowshoes on properly and be ready for our grade 6 friends who helped tighten them. We talked about the importance of trying our best, and although snowshoes were designed to help us walk better in the snow, lots of us were doing it for the first time and had to be patient with getting used to the feeling of having them on our feet! We discovered that walking more spaced out prevented us from stepping on each others snowshoes, we could walk in much deeper snow without sinking, and that sometimes our snowshoes slip off our boots! We got snow in our mitts and our boots, but that didn't slow us down! We had lots of fun walking, running, rolling, and playing in areas of fresh snow - we even created some snow art just like Simon Beck

"When we were snowshoeing I liked standing up and falling back into the snow!"

"I liked running around in the snowshoes, it was lots of fun!"

"I saw sparkles and snowflakes on the snow because I was looking closely!"

"It felt kinda funny. It felt like I had rocks underneath my feet."

"Snowshoeing was fun because I felt like I was sinking into the snow!"
