October 3rd - 7th

It was another wonderful week in Kindergarten!  We were very excited to see the colourful leaves on our school trees begin to dance down from the sky!  We spent some time in our learning grounds choosing our 'Kindergarten Tree' and practicing our sit spots.

Learning Outcome:
- Students demonstrate curiosity, interest and a willingness to learn about the environment and the community.

I Can:
- Explore and investigate objects and events in the environment.

Ask your child:
- What season is it?
- What is happening that shows us it is Fall?
- In the story The Fox and the Falling Leaves, why was Fletcher the fox so worried about his tree? What happen to his tree at the end of the story?

We looked back at our story Finding Muchness by Kobi Yamada, to talk about this page. We talked about what we thought it meant to be kind to everything that lives.  Students made lovely connections and comments such as - "It means being nice to everyone!", "I think it means that you need to be kind to the animals in the world" , "Be kind to your family."  We talked about the difference between living things and non living things and the reciprocity of kindness.
